This post is a little belated, but I couldn't leave it out.
This past weekend was Grandma's 75th birthday! In the morning, Brian and I went to buy her some flowers at the same flower shop we've been going to ever since we were little. We got her a bunch of red gladiolas (her favorite!) and we also custom-made her bouquet. Grandma loves reds and pinks so we picked a lot of flowers in those colors, like lilies and gerber daisies, and of course roses. I think it's so fun to make your own bouquet because you can pick everything out and they always end up being pretty. You would have to try really really hard to screw it up.
Our whole family went out for a nice family dinner in San Diego. We all wore red for Grandma since it's her favorite color, and it's lucky. We also had two really delicious cakes--the swiss black forest chocolate layer cake is one of my all-time favorite cakes ever. We're still working on our ability to take nice family photos together, but hey, at least we're trying. At least the majority of us are actually looking at the right camera!
