Dear Jon, You Can Never Escape Us Now.

Dear Jon,
*Cue Nicholas Sparks movie now*
Seriously, you will never ever be able to escape us now. You're a Gypsie for life. And you're our friend forever and ever and ever and ever. Even when you're all the way over in Rhode Island.

It was a pleasure for all of us to meet you, for all of us to becomes friends, and for us to invade your space all the time. Thanks for letting us creep while you were sleeping, Edward Cullen-style. But hey, even in your short time at Cal Poly, you already became ultra famous on CalPolySleeps and the the bike video. And also you got to hangout with us amazing kids--tell ya friends!!!! Don't forget to teach Rhode Island all the cool Californian things we taught you, like how to wear bro tanks and how to not wear shoes at home and how to bromance (thank your roommates) and how to go with the flow & not plan things by the minute. And we promise that we'll never forget everything you taught us, like fashion and makeup and bikes and all your advice and Italian things and dance moves by the incredible Dr. Sugaspank.

In all honesty though, it won't be the same without you and we already miss you loads.
But we'll see you soon buddy!

And remember, when you come back to California, we'll have a dairy-free apple birthday pie ready, and Mandy will be waiting for you in a box (and maybe Kyle too). And when we come to Rhode Island and take over the whole island, we hope you're ready too. And the card we made you better be framed and on top of your mantle. Oh, and we need to meet your MA. MAAAA.

Love,
Your favorite crazy kids <3

A Very Happy Christmas, Indeed.

Happy Christmas, Harry! - Ron Weasley
Happy Christmas, Ron! - Harry Potter
Anyways, it's now 2015, and I still haven't written about Christmas 2014!!!
It was a happy, jolly, warm and fuzzy time this year. Complete with a Christmas cake! We've never had a Christmas cake before, but it was probably the best idea we've ever had. It will definitely be incorporated as a new Christmas tradition, especially because it's my all time favorite chocolate layered mousse cake and is sooo delicious. It would be selfish to only have that cake on our birthdays because Christmas is Jesus's birthday and I'm sure he would appreciate the cake (right Sydney?)

This year all the cousins did stockings since we were tired of doing White Elephant and Secret Santa again. Stockings were actually really fun, except all of us failed at finding gifts that would fit into the actual stockings LOL. So the stockings were empty...and all the presents were just on the floor.

We also decorated the tree a little differently this year. First off, the tree was bought much much earlier (like day after Thanksgiving early) instead of how we usually wait until a few weeks before Christmas. And sooo for the first time in forever, we actually had a really nice and full and pretty-from-all-sides tree! Yay!!!

We still put up all our nostalgic childhood ornaments like all the Disney ones, and I added a new Cal Poly ornament too. But we also decided to seek ideas the great Pinterest app on how to decorate our tree. Pinterest thought we should add in some of those huge fake flowers, so we did. We'll probably slowly add more little things from Pinterest every year, but this year started off pretty well.

I can't wait for next Christmas to decorate the tree, and drink more champagne (Brian, you little drunkie), and do more presents and stockings, and have more misspelled presents.

Happy Christmas everybody!

Dream Diary #31 | Kurtis's New House

I've been sleeping more these past couple of days--like more than I would normally sleep. I hope it's just because I'm tired and not because I'm getting sick or anything.

Anyways, the dream. I was a babysitter/nanny for some little girl. I don't remember her name or what she looked like, but I know I was taking care of her haha. I had to bring her with me everywhere, including school. Then we were doing this project at school (but it seemed like high school?) where we all had to bring in pictures to compile into a class book. I got a lotttt of pictures from Aunt Cherie, of pretty much everyone in my family and all of the kids growing up, so my pictures basically took up 90% of the book. Whoops. But the teacher loved it and she gave me some prize or something, so I left class early to get get lunch. And it literally was like a high school where everyone was sitting outside eating food and hanging out. I was walking down this ramp to go and eat, but I stopped. I don't know why I stopped but I stopped and was just sitting there. A girl from my class came by and we were talking, but she was late to go to work.

Then the dream jumped to Kurtis's house, except it was really Brian's house in real life. For some reason, Kurtis owned it in the dream. WEIRD. But I guess Kurtis remodeled the house so that the front door was actually around the back. It was really confusing. But once I walked inside, our whole family was there having a party. Maybe it was Kurtis's housewarming party? Who knows. But he probably finally did get the master room there. Sorry Brian, I think you got kicked out.

My Little Desk

A peek of my room so far!

So I'm still organizing and getting it all together the way I like, but I think I'm finally finished with my desk. The little white and blue bucket was only $1 at Target--I LOVE THE DOLLAR SECTION. I put my car keys and my room keys in there so I won't forget where I put them. I made good use of the boxes I got from in the IKEA post for holding all my school supplies. And yeah, there really are a ton of them. I used the box lid to hold my sticky notes (I also picked up some really cute owl notes) and the jar holds a few bars of chocolate for emergencies. My allergy medicine found a special little spot there too because my allergies were absolutely rampant the first day here.

And of course the elephant. That little guy is so cute and red and makes me so happy seeing him on my desk. He kinda just moves around all over the desk, depending on where I need to put my stuff. He's basically a nomad elephant. I got the white crate from Target, so I put all my books and folders (plus Seventeen Magazine haha) in there. I'm still working on figuring out how to put things on my wall so I can hang up the string lights and other wall decorations. So for now, all that's really done is my desk. And my bed. But I didn't take pictures of that yet haha.

Movie Night & Homemade Popcorn

This past weekend, we had a movie night at Aunt Cherie and Uncle Yvan's house, where Trisha, Arianne, and I finally watched the masterpiece SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.

Of course, no movie night is complete without popcorn. But we decided to make it ourselves. 100% homemade and 100% delicious. Sure store bought bags of popcorn are easier, or even the kind you buy and stick in the microwave. But they're full of butter and sugars that you don't really need/want. Plus if you make it at home, you can create your own flavors and basically customize the whole thing. Popcorn is actually a pretty healthy snack, but we decided to splurge a little and make some chocolatey concoctions for the movie night. Of course, this would be just as delicious without the chocolate (believe me, we tested it!) haha.

We made 3 different flavors based on what everyone liked. We popped a whole bunch of the popcorn kernels in a little bit of oil, then mixed in the different toppings. We melted up some dark chocolate We didn't add any butter, and just a little sprinkle of salt.
Flavor 1: Dark chocolate (for Dylan who's allergic to nuts and doesn't like cinnamon)
Flavor 2: Dark chocolate with cinnamon (my favorite one!)
Flavor 3: Dark chocolate with chopped up Twix bars and crushed almonds (for the milk chocolate and caramel lovers)

The popcorn was delicious and so simple to make. So simple even Dylan and Kaia helped us make it!  This is probably one of my new favorite snacks to eat. Next time if I want a healthier version, I'll probably just make it plain with cinnamon. And the movie was really really good too. Suspenseful, kinda creepy, but I actually didn't find it to be scary at all. Probably because I can deal with scary movies that involve psychotic killers and gore, but I really cannot handle paranormal scary. I can never ever do paranormal scary. I literally can't sleep for weeks after watching one of those.

Burritos Burritos Burritos

We got burritos from Oscars the other day. And they were amazing. Fish burritos from Oscars are the best fish burritos ever. We ordered a bunch of burritos because the boys were moving in some furniture into their new place/our childhood home. I remember when I used to go to Oscars just about every week, so much that the guy knew me and my order. Whoops. They also accidentally gave us an extra burrito, except it was a bean/veggie one. None of us really like beans, so we didn't eat it.

But yeah it's been a looong while since we've had Oscars, so it was perfect and delicious. Especially with Big Gulp iced teas.

Not So Favorite | Packing Is A Nightmare

There's a couple things I hate hate hate hate doing in this world. One of them is laundry. The other is packing. But the thing is, I don't mind throwing clothes into the washing machine or putting things into boxes. No, the thing I HATE most about both of those chores are the PUTTING THINGS AWAY PART. I hate taking laundry out of the dryer and sorting it. I hate unpacking things after a trip or a move.

I've started my packing now and my room is a lot more clean/bare. It's honestly really weird. I've also been getting together my bedding, towels, kitchen/bathroom things, etc. So there's just a bunch of boxes laying around now. It's really hard for me to pick what I want to bring and what I'm not bringing with me. It's kinda like I'm playing favorites with all my stuff, which isn't really fair. But I know I can't bring everything. Like I really hope everything I pack will even fit into my car. Or I guess if they don't, I can do what Kurtis says and just rent a huge U-HAUL. LOL just kidding. I would never do that. Side note: seriously though, packing is hard work and you get sweaty and hot. Ugh. I'm dreading the unpacking part in 2 weeks.

What I'm Most Excited About For Fall

As much as I loooove summer, I am just as excited for Fall to come. Summer and Fall have to be my favorite times of the year. I'm not such a big fan of Winter because I hate the cold, or Spring because my allergies are the WORST. Here's what I've been anxiously been looking forward to all summer long.

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

I cannot wait for this show to come back. It feels like I've been waiting forever to find out if Ward really is evil as HYDRA is, or if he's actually a good guy inside. I have my hopes set on him actually turning out to be a good guy! September 23rd @9pm. It's written down in my calendar and everything.

My Birthday

OCTOBER 14. The best day of the year to be born. I'll be 23, but like Blink-182 says--nobody likes you when you're 23. HAHA.

Disneyland during Halloween

I haven't had a Disneyland annual pass for years now. So sad, but it just got way too expensive to have one. But I do like to go to Disneyland during Halloween season. I honestly like Disneyland's decorations during Halloween more than Christmas (but it's a close call). And I love my churros too.

Football

I'm so happy football will finally be back soon in just a few more days. Also, it's my first year playing Fantasy Football, so hopefully I don't suck too horribly haha.

Starting at SLO & Decorating My Room

It's also just a couple more weeks until I move to SLO. Woohoo! I also can't wait to set up and decorate my space. A happy home is a happy heart.

Bones Coming Back

My favorite show is back on September 25th @8pm!! I hated last season's cliffhanger sooo much. I NEED THE SHOW TO BE BACK ON RIGHT NOW SO I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

Thanksgiving

One of my favorite things to say is "Happy Thanksgiving ya'll" because I LOVE Thanksgiving. The food. The cooking. The pie. YES.

My New Planner

I know, I'm so weird. But really, I still am so excited for when the planner I ordered will finally come. I really hope it's worth the wait because I have been obsessing over it for sooo long now. Okay it's been like a week since I ordered it, but feels like forever!

The Elephant In The Room (Literally)

Ever since I found out I would be going to SLO, I've slowly been buying little things to decorate my room and make it feel homier once I move. There were some really nice sales going on this summer, so I managed to get some really cute things for a bargain!
The gold box on top is actually a long string of plastic gold beads? I don't know if I would really call them beads, but they're little plastic gold things strung on a long string. I got these ages and ages ago from a Crate&Barrel clearance sale I think. I also got some string lights from Target!
This red elephant is my FAVORITE. As anyone knows, I'm slightly obsessed with elephants right now. And the fact that this elephant is red (my favorite color) makes it even better.
And last but not least, a ceramic jar with a bright orange top. I was originally going to use this as a candle holder, but we're not allowed to bring candles into the apartment. So I'll find some other use for this. I got the jar and the elephant from Michaels when they were on clearance.

Nothing in my room is going to match at all, but I think it'll turn out amazing. I never match anything anyways.

Little IKEA Trip

Since I'm going to be moving into a new place (finally know who my apartment mates are!), I've been hunting for items to help me organize my room. I got these little odds and ends from IKEA. Normally at IKEA, I'm all over the kitchen section. Like I absolutely love any and all kitchen things.

This time however, I was on a mission in the storage and organizing section. I saw this set of boxes in the IKEA catalogue and they were soo cute I had to get them. They're going to be perfect on my desk since I like to have things on top of my desk rather than in the drawers (I know I'm weird like that). And then while walking in the gardening section, I saw these cute mint green metal pots. I'm sure they're supposed to be for actual flowers and plants, but I'm either going to use them for pens and things like that, or makeup. Or both. Or even just as decoration. Plus the color just makes me so happy when I look at them.
