WAKE ME UP | Music

These past few days, I've been having some issues with waking up. Usually I have no problem getting up early and I'm usually the earliest one up in the apartment. So to help me wake up I've literally been listening to a few wake up songs while I eat breakfast and get ready for the day. And now they're on repeat every morning. And day. And night. Because I love them sooo much. I feel like Katarina when she finds her new song that she's obsessed over. HAHAHA.

Habits (Stay High) - Tove Lo
Pompeii (Kat Krazy Remix) - Bastille
Change Your Life - Iggy Azalea ft. T.I.
Animals - Maroon 5 ft. J. Cole
Outside - Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding
Stolen Dance - Milky Chance
Heroes (we could be) - Alesso ft. Tove Lo
Torn Apart - Bastille ft. GRADES

And here's a little picture of the San Francisco sunrise, courtesy of Katarina.

What I'm Most Excited About For Fall

As much as I loooove summer, I am just as excited for Fall to come. Summer and Fall have to be my favorite times of the year. I'm not such a big fan of Winter because I hate the cold, or Spring because my allergies are the WORST. Here's what I've been anxiously been looking forward to all summer long.

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

I cannot wait for this show to come back. It feels like I've been waiting forever to find out if Ward really is evil as HYDRA is, or if he's actually a good guy inside. I have my hopes set on him actually turning out to be a good guy! September 23rd @9pm. It's written down in my calendar and everything.

My Birthday

OCTOBER 14. The best day of the year to be born. I'll be 23, but like Blink-182 says--nobody likes you when you're 23. HAHA.

Disneyland during Halloween

I haven't had a Disneyland annual pass for years now. So sad, but it just got way too expensive to have one. But I do like to go to Disneyland during Halloween season. I honestly like Disneyland's decorations during Halloween more than Christmas (but it's a close call). And I love my churros too.

Football

I'm so happy football will finally be back soon in just a few more days. Also, it's my first year playing Fantasy Football, so hopefully I don't suck too horribly haha.

Starting at SLO & Decorating My Room

It's also just a couple more weeks until I move to SLO. Woohoo! I also can't wait to set up and decorate my space. A happy home is a happy heart.

Bones Coming Back

My favorite show is back on September 25th @8pm!! I hated last season's cliffhanger sooo much. I NEED THE SHOW TO BE BACK ON RIGHT NOW SO I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

Thanksgiving

One of my favorite things to say is "Happy Thanksgiving ya'll" because I LOVE Thanksgiving. The food. The cooking. The pie. YES.

My New Planner

I know, I'm so weird. But really, I still am so excited for when the planner I ordered will finally come. I really hope it's worth the wait because I have been obsessing over it for sooo long now. Okay it's been like a week since I ordered it, but feels like forever!

8 Random Things | Favorite Products Under $10

Over the years, I've experimented with tons of different mascaras, eyeliners, blushes, lip balms, etc. Target is honestly my favorite place to go, so there's always a lot of new options to try. Through a lot of trial and error, I have found some of my favorite products that I continued to use over and over. Most of them are drugstore products and a couple aren't, but they're all good.

1. Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Lotion Suncreen Broad Spectrum SPF55 ($8.99)
Always wear sunscreen! I hate sunscreens that are heavy and clog my pores, but this one is really lightweight and comes in a high SPF.

2. ULTA Cheek Color in Afternoon Delight ($7)
I was surprised how long the color stayed on my cheeks and I love how there's some shimmer in it.

3. Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil (around $2-3)
My go-to when my lips are super chapped like during the winter. The Pomegranate Oil one specifically is my favorite because smells really good :)

4. Sephora Collection Nano Eyeliner in Coffee ($5)
The tiniest eyeliner I've ever bought, but one of the longest lasting because it's super pigmented.

5. NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in Dark Brown ($5.99)
Anything with the name Cake Powder has to be a sure bet right? LOL jk. I really do like using this eyebrow powder to lightly fill my eyebrows without making them look too filled in or unnatural.

6. Clinique Bottom Lash ($10)
I finally decided to give this a try recently. I love how tiny the brush is because it really does reach all my bottom lashes.

7. Maybelline Waterproof Volum' Express The Mega Plush Mascara ($5.89)
I feel like a lot of people I know don't really like this mascara, but I LOVE the bendy mascara wand and how feathery it makes your eyelashes look. I get the waterproof formula because it helps my eyelashes stay curled after I curl them.

8. Baby Lips in Pink Punch - $2.99 at Target
I'm not a big fan of pink normally but this is a rare exception to the rule, and it's super moisturizing.

Summer Snacking

I love to eat snacks. I would rather eat a bunch of smaller meals plus a lot of snacks throughout the day, instead of eat 3 giant meals a day. It's just how my stomach likes it, and then it lets me eat more times a day, which makes me happy. But I also get bored if I eat the same thing all the time, so I like to have some variety. But, a couple of things I really have liked eating (and drinking!) lately are:

1. Fresh fruit (refrigerated or even frozen before eating)
2. Frozen yogurt topped with frozen fruit + some type of cookie
3. Rainbow colored salads with a million toppings
4. A LOT of iced tea
5. Hot tea
6. Scones! I just LOVE scones.
7. Trader Joe's Fruit Frenzy Bars
8. Freshly squeezed orange juice

Happy snacking! ♥

8 Random Things That Scare The Pee Out Of Me

Everybody has things that they're scared of, and not everybody has the same fears. I happen to have a lot of fears, and a lot of them I know are irrational, but they still terrify me.

1. Bigfoot

I have no idea why, but Bigfoot terrifies me. Even hearing someone say the word Bigfoot or seeing some article about a Bigfoot sighting gives me anxiety. Whenever I'm browsing through channels and I see that the Finding Bigfoot show is on, I get scared. Even though I know that Bigfoot is an urban legend and may or may not be real, I am still soooo terrified that one day I will be the person who runs into him. That is honestly one of my biggest nightmares.

2. Clowns

I hate clowns. They're scary and not funny and I have no idea why anybody thought it was a good idea to have clowns at kids' birthday parties. And, seriously, why do clowns have to paint on their makeup like that and wear big wigs? The makeup and wigs just make them look even scarier than they already are. I'm pretty sure 80% of kids get nightmares from looking at them.

3. Dolls

Dolls. OMG. Those porcelain dolls that look like real babies FREAK ME OUT. Especially those little porcelain clown dowels. They give me nightmares. I don't get nightmares very often, but when I do, they're always about creepy little dolls that are coming after me but I can't move or run away.

4. Being eaten alive by rats

I've had this fear ever since the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious. There's that one scene where the guy gets a rat put on his stomach with a bucket over it, and then they heat up the bucket so it gets really hot. The rat has nowhere to run so it just ends up digging a hole into the guy's stomach. And it is so gross and I never want that to happen to me. Or to anyone. Because that is a gruesome way to die. Ugh.

5. Paranormal movies

I can watch any type of movie except for the paranormal ones. I'm okay with scary movies as long as they're bloody gory ones or thrillers, but not if they involve anything at all paranormal. I can count on one hand how many paranormal scary movies I've watched in my entire life--3. And I hated all 3 of them. I couldn't sleep for days after watching them.

6. Cats

I'm super allergic to cats, so much that I can't breathe around them. Literally I feel like cats are out to kill me by making my airways swell up until I can't breathe at all and I die. I also don't want to die because of cats, and end up getting licked by those cats like Halle Berry did in the Catwoman movie. I hate/am scared of cats. And they need to stay away from me.

7. Bones finally ending

Bones is my favorite show ever and it's already going to be in its 10th season. 10 seasons of a show is a lot. I hope the show never ends, because once it does, I don't know what I'll watch. I've already watched every episode multiple times, but I still love watching it on Netflix or when its on TV. I can never get tired of it and I can't wait for the next season. Please never ever end.

8. Heights, but only sometimes

I'm scared of heights on special occasions. Like if I'm somewhere high on a bridge or rock climbing, and theres nothing really under me to keep me falling to my death, I get so scared and can't move. But if I'm just on a high balcony with a solid floor under me, I'm not scared at all. It all depends on if I can see under me or not.

Now after writing all of those things down, I'm a little bit scared. Yaaay.

8 Random Things I Love Doing

Because I'm Weird. Honestly.

I'm easily entertained and find the most random things to be interesting or fun. Besides the obvious things I love, like baking and traveling, these are some more random things I love to do. Some of these things are weird, but all of them are really fun for me. So here we go.

1. Brushing my teeth for a really long time.

This is probably the most random one on my list. I really love brushing my teeth for some odd reason. Like, I'll literally brush my teeth for the longest time because I think it's really fun. I also really like the feeling of clean teeth and how minty fresh your mouth gets. So every time I brush my teeth, I'll stand there and brush, brush, brush away for like 5 minutes (or even more).

2. Going to concerts and getting that ringing in the ears afterwards.

One of the greatest joys in my life is going to concerts and shows. I LOVE IT. I love seeing my favorite bands and singers performing live because it's such a different feeling than just listening through headphones. I believe that the best shows leave you with the most intense ringing in the ears feeling after it's over. The better the show, the longer you have that ringing for. Really good shows will leave me with the ringing feeing for days, and I love every minute of it.

3. Going into kitchen stores.

I love walking into stores like Sur La Table or Crate&Barrel just to browse through all of the kitchen things they have. It's so fun to just wander through those stores and look at all of the baking gadgets and little tools they have. I have a collection of appliances and baking tools at home, but there's always more things I would love to get (and will slowly, but surely buy).

4. Watching movies on the SyFy Channel.

The SyFy Channel always has these movies that are really stupid, but hilarious to watch. The plots are outrageously ridiculous but they keep me entertained. I really love sharks, so the shark ones are my favorites to watch. My favorite right now is probably Sand Sharks because I love how the sharks can swim through the sand to attack their victims. I still need to watch the one about the invisible sharks, and I can't wait for Sharknado 2!

5. Building furniture.

I like to build things by myself. Like all of the furniture you get from IKEA or Target, I love to build. Now, I'm no handyman so I definitely can't build things from scratch. But give me a set with instructions, and I can sit there and have the best time doing it. I have no idea why it's so fun for me, but I just love it.

6. Watching football.

Growing up, I loved watching basketball with my dad. But now, I love watching football soo much more. I can't wait for September for football to start again. It seems like it's been forever since the SuperBowl and football season ended. My favorite team to watch is the Saints, even though I'm from San Diego. But... I really just don't like the Chargers hahaha.

7. Going to aquariums.

I could spend all day in any aquarium. Take me to an aquarium, and I will be a happy girl. The sharks are always my favorite to look at, and I can sit there forever just looking at them. Of course, I do sometimes get scared that the glass will break and the sharks will eat me. But at the same time, I also get scared that the glass will break, because then it means all the fish will die. And that would be so sad.

8. Singing loudly in the car with other people.

I love to sing in the car, and it's even more fun when there are other people in the car to do it with. I never drive without music on because it's so boring to sit there in silence. It's fun to listen to the radio, but the radio overplays a lot of songs. So most of the time I'll plug in my phone and play songs on shuffle. I love when a random 90's song will play, like Backstreet Boys or something. It's so much fun to sing/scream to songs you really love, and even more fun to sing/scream to songs from "back in the day."

So that's it. 8 random things that I love doing. I don't think any of them really correlate to each other at all, but that's okay. I'm just a complex person who likes a wide array of different activities. LOL just kidding. But not really.
