Dream Diary #34 | Turkeys, Sparkles, & Off-Roading

It's been a while since I've been able to remember my dreams. But last night, I finally was able to!

So it started off like this. I was at the grocery store and was grocery shopping with my parents (Thanksgiving on my mind!) We were definitely shopping for a turkey and all that other good Thanksgiving food. Then for some reason, some random old man came over and sat on our cart, and he was like expecting my dad to push him around the store like that. We had no idea who this man was or anything so of course we were like...uhh no. And then it took forever to get the man off of our cart. I don't even know.

Then the dream jumped to the mall. We were at this giant mall and we see this lady who was dressed in all gold and sparkles. Katarina said that was the lady she always sees while shopping, and that the lady didn't care about how much she spent or what she bought. Kaia was also there and she even thought the lady was wearing too many sparkles (and Kaia loves sparkles). We didn't find anything to buy, but the lady bought like a million things. And then we walked over to Starbucks because they were having a BOGO deal. But when we get there, they tell us that they ran out of Grande sized in everything. RIDICULOUS. So I ended up getting Tall decaf coffee with 2 pumps of hazelnut syrup. I have no idea why I even got coffee in my dream. But that actually does sound delicious. But not in a Tall size, in a Grande.

Andddd, the dream jumped again. This was probably the most random part of my dream. I was driving along some freeway by myself and then took the wrong turn. I ended up going down this dirt road and there were all these other cars with me but they were off-roading vehicles. And I was kinda confused at first, but it turned out that we were on this dirt/mud road with random water slides, going off-roading in the mud?! Like mudding. But my car definitely was not equipped to do that. So we go all the way down the entire thing, and we were all expecting to be able to turn around to go home. But the road at the end was blocked off and we couldn't do that. So we all got out of our cars and were floating around in this muddy lake, trying to figure out how to get home. HAHAHA. I have no idea why I dreamt that but it kinda really does sound like fun.

DON'T LEAVE YOUR ALARM ON

There are so many ways to wake up. SO MANY.
But the worst way to possibly wake up has got to be the way I woke up this morning.

I have no issue with waking up early when I have to, but when I wake up early because of someone else, then IT'S A PROBLEM.

So I guess the girl who lives in the room above me (or maybe even the one who lives in the room below me, but most likely it's the girl above) had to wake up at 6:30 am. And set her alarm for 6:30 am. Problem is....she snoozed it, so it went off again a few minutes later. EXCEPT SHE DIDN'T TURN IT OFF FOR LIKE 15 MINUTES. I think she left to go shower and forgot to turn the alarm completely off. AND I COULD HEAR IT FROM MY ROOM. AT 6:30 AM. WHYYYYY.

I was sooooo mad. Literally, I can always hear her phone from my room. Like whenever it goes off during the day, or she gets a phone call or text, I can ALWAYS hear it. WHY IS HER PHONE SO LOUD?!?!?! I just don't get it. And I don't like it.

Dream Diary #33 | The League and Onion Penholders

Last night, I dreamt my roommates and our neighbors were all going on an excursion together. We drove to this house in the mountains, and the house belonged to the parents of Taco and Kevin MacArthur from The League. I've been trying to catch up on The League for a while now, so maybe I've been watching it just a little too much lately. The house was really cute and had all these weird homemade decorations from Taco inside. Like there was this awesome penholder in the kitchen shaped like an onion. The pens were all green and shaped like the onion stems, and the pen holder part looked like a little onion bulb hahaha. They also had the most amazing dog there. It was huge and fluffy and had paws like those giant teddy bears from Costco, and could even play patty cake. AWESOME.

Then we had to leave to go somewhere and Megan offered to drive. But she had to get gas, and could only get gas at Chevron for some reason. We kept trying to map out where the closest Chevron was, but the one that was closest to us turned out to be a house, and the other one was really far away. I'm not sure if we ever found a Chevron because I woke up. Haha.

WAKE ME UP | Music

These past few days, I've been having some issues with waking up. Usually I have no problem getting up early and I'm usually the earliest one up in the apartment. So to help me wake up I've literally been listening to a few wake up songs while I eat breakfast and get ready for the day. And now they're on repeat every morning. And day. And night. Because I love them sooo much. I feel like Katarina when she finds her new song that she's obsessed over. HAHAHA.

Habits (Stay High) - Tove Lo
Pompeii (Kat Krazy Remix) - Bastille
Change Your Life - Iggy Azalea ft. T.I.
Animals - Maroon 5 ft. J. Cole
Outside - Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding
Stolen Dance - Milky Chance
Heroes (we could be) - Alesso ft. Tove Lo
Torn Apart - Bastille ft. GRADES

And here's a little picture of the San Francisco sunrise, courtesy of Katarina.

Dream Diary #32 | SpiderDude NOT Spiderman

I had another Youtube dream. So I arrive at this ice skating rink (which I've dreamt about before) and walk down the stairs to get to the ice. As I'm walking, I see some of Sydney's favorite Youtubers--Kian, Sam, and JC. And I was like, I haveeee to take a picture for Sydney. So I go down and take a picture with them.

BUT THEN I see Tyler Oakley with fabulous looking light blue/purple hair. It was soooo pretty seriously. Like if I could, I would dye my hair like that. And for some reason, I jump into his arms and he carries me back up the stairs. But really, I don't think Tyler Oakley is that strong in real life, so... yeah. That would clearly never happen.

Then I really had to use the bathroom and went to use the bathroom at this house. It looked like Grandma's house and was pretty much the same, but Jack and Finn Harries owned it. LOL RANDOM. But they let me use the bathroom before the dream jumped one last time to.....ANSEL ELGORT.

I was going to dinner with some friends, and one of them happened to be Ansel. We had a hard time finding a table at the little restaurant to fit the 4 of us. Like for some reason, all the tables there were really really tiny and could barely even fit 2 people. But we finally found a table, but we started arguing about what movie we wanted to watch. The choices were either SpiderDude (NOT Spiderman, SpiderDude) and this other movie about zombies or something. But yeah I don't even know what SpiderDude is because the movie box looked exactly like Spiderman. Unfortunately, I woke up before we could watch SpiderDude so I'll never know what it was about.

The Failed Prank

So this morning, we all woke up early to try and pull a prank. Only... it failed. HAHA.
It was supposed to be payback for throwing the nut or chocolate or whatever at us. I mean, all we did was try and give our neighbors some jellybeans. Isn't that nice of us?? Jellybeans?? YEAH. And they're delicious ones too. And then they sprayed us with water. (Hopefully it was water.)

SOOO we tried to do the tape on the door thing, except of course it failed because Dan was already up and could hear us putting the tape on. MAJOR FAIL. But just wait, because next time will be better. Muahahaha.

Moral of the story is: make sure nobody's awake yet when you try to put tape on their door.
Also, avoid party regret.

Dream Diary #28 | Concerts & Ramen Noodles

So the past few days, I've had trouble remembering what I dreamt about. I know I had dreams, but I would just forget what they were about the moment I woke up.

I guess to make up for that, my brain gave me the biggest and most random dream ever. The dream was actually pretty cool and flashed between different parts back and forth. I was at this concert thing where Sara Bareilles, Maroon 5, and J.Lo (J.Lo??) were performing, plus a bunch of other people. It was awesome because the venue was really intimate like a House of Blues, and I had a great seat up close. Yes, I didn't even have to stand, woohooo!

But like, in between each performer, I had to run next door where it was a kitchen area and cook. I was a part of this cooking class (maybe it'll be like the class I'm taking this quarter!) and we were all being tested Iron Chef/Chopped-style. Luckily it was all in pairs or else I would have been petrified. For one of the courses, I had to work with scallops and baby octopus. I think my partner had to do something with meat. Anyways, we wanted to bread and fry the seafood as an appetizer. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to use ramen noodles as bread crumbs. This would have been pretty cool EXCEPT I was really dumb and cooked the noodles on accident instead.
So they were definitely not crunchy anymore and would definitely not work as bread crumbs. I don't think that course went over well. And then someone showed up with an envelop for me, with a bill to pay inside. Okay, thanks??

Luckily, the dream jumped back to the concert and watching all the performances. Sydney somehow showed up and was sitting next to me. Probably because she was talking to me yesterday about the iHeartRadio festival. Sorry Sydney, but 13 year olds probably shouldn't go to those things. Anyways, when Sydney sat down next to me, these random girls came up and got mad because Syd was apparently in "their spot." But Syd wouldn't move so the girls had to go sit somewhere else. And then I woke up.

The SLO Life | Early Morning Farmers' Market

We got some goodies at the Farmers' Market today! Our first trip to the market in SLO. There were so many fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, spreads and salsas. I got some figs (I love figs now!) and of course strawberries. Amanda got some fresh guacamole at the salsa stand (so many salsas to choose from!) and I got some spiced vegetable and chick pea stew? I think that's what it was called. Whatever it was, the sample was delicious. And then we saw all these cute little succulents that were colored into some amazing shades. Amanda bought a bright red one for our living room and it's so adorable.

I like the Farmers' Market. I really like how they give you samples of everything. And I'm definitely going to go a lottttt

Dream Diary #27 | TV Sitcom

The dream I had last night was weird. It was a third person dream, and it played out like a sitcom. Really cool, but also weird.

So there was a guy and a girl and they both were looking for each other. It was funny because they both kept running to different places, and each new location was a new set where someone had to label what it was. So when they ran to a new place, there would be a pause so the camera could zoom in on the name of the set. They were literally running in circles because the sets were all positioned as a big circle with the camera in the middle of it. Kind of like in That 70's Show when they all sit in the circle in the basement and the camera swings from face to face. Just like that. I think the guy and the girl did end up finding each other though, so that's good.

I know at some point I was in the dream as myself, but I really don't remember when it was anymore because some sprinklers went off outside and woke me up. Also, around 5 am this morning, my phone fell off my bed and made a really loud noise (I hope it didn't wake anyone else up). But I had to basically crawl around under my bed to find it. I was too lazy to turn on the light haha.

I Woke Up Like...With A Bloody Nose

First night in SLO, check. Surprisingly, I slept really well last night and feel super rested this morning. The only thing is...I woke up with a bloody nose. It was really weird, like it completely just dripped all over my hand when I out of bed. Gross. Maybe it was too hot last night. Maybe it's the climate change. Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't happen again. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a bloody nose. It must have been years ago.

Anyways, I also said goodbye to my parents this morning. They stayed in a really nice hotel last night and ate really delicious seafood at Pismo Beach apparently, and now they're going home. Don't cry Mom, I'll be back home for my birthday next month.

Dream Diary #26 | Dream-ception

I dreamt that I was sleeping in my dream. And that I was dreaming while I was sleeping. So basically, it was like a dream within a dream? Dream-ception!
I don't really remember what I dreamt while I was sleeping in the dream. I know that I thought it was already Tuesday in my dream so I had to do all my last minute packing preparations (OMG, moving tomorrow!) Also, I do remember that I woke up in my dream just a little bit before I woke up in real life. And that was really confusing because it gave me déjà vu.

Then I woke up for real and made a smoothie.

Dream Diary #25 | The BBQ Before The BBQ

So I had a dream last night about the BBQ we're going to be having later on today LOL. I dreamt the BBQ before it even happened?? Yeah.

So pretty much everything was kinda how I imagined the BBQ this afternoon will be like. The dream BBQ took place at Grandma's house and there was a TON of food. Like literally, there was soo much food we ran out of platters and pans to put the food in, so we started piling things straight up on the table. There were also way too many cars there, so we were out of parking spaces. People had to park their cars on the grass behind Grandma's house. Like literally drive around the house to park.

And then I guess Brian and I forgot to buy the cake, so Michael's uncle ran out to go and pick one up. I don't even know if he came back with a cake though.

And that was it. Now I'm excited for the BBQ today!

Super Simple Smoothie

This is the smoothie I made this morning. Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely LOVE smoothies. Love love love love love them. They're sooo easy and quick to make. They taste delicious. You can put anything you want into them. In one smoothie, you can potentially put all your daily servings of fruits and/or veggies in case you don't have time to eat them that day.

The smoothie I made today only contained 3 ingredients. Raspberries, banana, and a touch of honey. It could have been a 2 ingredient all-fruit smoothie with just the raspberries and banana. But the raspberries were a little more tart today, so the honey cut down the tartness a little bit.

I'm a big big fan of fruit smoothies. Especially all-fruit ones. Vegetable smoothies, not so much. Blended up veggies?? No thank you. I can handle 98% fruit, 2% vegetable smoothies though. You know, the kind where you sneak just a little bit of spinach inside. Just a little bit though. But if you try adding beets or carrots, forget about it. I'm not on that level yet.

Also, I'm super loving this new little blender I got off Amazon. I didn't want to cart off my huge Ninja blender to SLO with me, so I got this little one. And it's perfect for helping me not make the perfect amount of smoothie, just about 1 tall glass, each time. Plus, it's also my favorite color :)

Dream Diary #23 | What's A Cucumberceree??

Once again, my dream took place at Brian's lovely house. We were all leaving--me, Kurtis, Sydney. Kurtis got into his car and showed us the inside of his car door. There was a really large word printed on the inside of the door. The word was "cucumberceree" or something like that. A total nonsense word now that I've woken up, but in my dream it was supposed to mean squash in French. Yeah...not even close.

So after that, Kurtis left, and for some reason my car wasn't there, but my mom's car was so I figured I had to drive my mom's car home. Sydney's mom and I both started backing out of the driveway at the same time and somehow scraped each other's cars. And then when I got home, I remember I was really sad because I told my mom that all my friends who don't live in San Diego anymore never made any efforts to hangout with me whenever they came back into town. Except for Eddie and Owen. And then I woke up and my right hand was completely numb from resting on top of the covers for a long while.

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!! Sunday FOOTBALL, Lots of Anxiety, & Breakfast of Champs

A yummy breakfast fitting for Sunday football. YESSS I AM SO HAPPY FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!
I've been waiting and waiting and waiting, and now it's finally here. What better way to celebrate having massive anxiety again than by eating pancakes? And not just any pancakes. Banana walnut pancakes drizzled with chocolate and syrup on the side. Plus some truffle oil eggs and freshly squeezed orange-grapefruit juice.

Yup, this breakfast will definitely give me enough energy to watch football (the Saints!) and get massive anxiety over the game and fantasy football. I feel like I'm going to hyperventilate already.

Dream Diary #21 | Chocolate Labs and Mario Kart Roads

A bunch of us were at Grandma's house trying to get ready for someone's birthday party. So we were cooking and cleaning, and just preparing everything for the party. Someone brought their dog (I think it was Kevin's dog) and that dog was a nightmare. Sure, it was a chocolate lab puppy, and was super super cute. But it was a menace when we were trying to prepare everything! Once we finished cooking something, it would destroy it. Once we cleaned something up, it would make a mess again. It was just a never-ending cycle. Finally we all decided to just come back the next day to finish everything.

When we drove out of Grandma's house, Aunt Cherie left first, then me, then Uncle Tony's car. This is the part when it got awesome. When we drove down Grandma's hill, everything was normal at first, but then the roads turned into water. So you could drive on the roads still, but they were partly or extremely submerged in water. The water was vivid green and blue--SO PRETTY. And then the path split into 2. You could pick one side which was the shallow slower side. Or you could pick the deep side which was faster, but you had no idea how deep the water went so your car could potentially drown. The majority of the people, including me and Uncle Tony, picked the shallow end. Other, like Aunt Cherie, picked the other way. It turns out that the shallow road was under ~2 feet of water (which is still a lot!) and the deeper side went up to 6-9 feet of water. I have no idea how that worked, but it was fun. It reminded me a lot of Mario Kart haha.

Dream Diary #19 | The Athlete and The Musical. And Tie-Dyed Cars.

I had another 3rd person dream.

There was this high school girl who was really athletic and amazing at sports. She was so amazing that she even had an agent...in high school. But she didn't even like playing sports all that much anymore, and she really wanted to join the school musical. Is this sounding like High School Musical or what?? Anyways, I guess my friends and I were all part of the musical. The best part was that it was all about Disney and we were just all singing huge mash-ups of Disney songs. The athletic girl killed it and had the best time with us.

But then she had to go to college where she played more sports. And she HATED it. Her agent followed her to college and made her participate in this race/scavenger hunt thing. A photographer had to follow her and take pictures of the whole race, and the dream jumped to the part of the race where it was all about tie-dyed vehicles. She was telling the photographer how she wants to quit playing softball because she doesn't like it anymore. Instead of going to softball practice and preparing for the next game, she went to play basketball but ended up tearing her hamstring. And I think that ended her career.

Caramel Apples, But Not.

I love apples, but I'm not always a fan of eating them if that makes sense. It kinda gets tiring eating a plain apple after a while.

For breakfast this morning, I really wanted to eat apples though. But not plain apples. Oh no.
So I made these apples, drizzled with lots of melty peanut butter and sprinkled with cinnamon--two of my favorite things ever. And I ate the whole plate without getting tired of it. Success!

They kinda remind me of caramel apples, but healthier. And I don't like caramel that much anyways. Side note: these would also make a really delicious and easy snack too. This takes like 2 minutes to make, tops.

Dream Diary #18 | Dogs, Chinese, and Angry People

We were in Aunt Cherie and Uncle Yvan's house, except it was a totally different house in my dream. They were making something, so we were playing with Dylan and Kaia in the other room. They owned 2 dogs, and I definitely liked one more than the other. The bigger dog was soo cute and nice to me, but the little dog was a little demon. I did NOT like the little dog. We were taking a lot of pictures and selfies. Well at least I was taking them with the kids and the big dog. Little dog was not invited.

Then Katarina and I found Uncle Yvan's Chinese book. Because he was learning Chinese??? What. And we started reading it and we actually could do it. Who knew I could remember so much Chinese still?

Then Kent and Michael came by, followed by Kurtis and our friend Jon. Kent was freaking out looking for his bag. Then he got super mad at us for "losing it" when really we didn't even know we were supposed to have it. Because you know, we weren't supposed to have it anyways. So we were like, dude why would we even have your bag, you didn't even give it to us.

And then there was Jamba Juice somewhere in there too.

Dream Diary #16 | Beach Digging

I dreamt I was at the beach, hanging around and digging in the sand. We all dug our own little spots to lay down and relax in, kinda like little sand beds. For some reason, I found it was sooo easy to dig in the spot I chose. The sand was already loose so it made it really was for me to dig a really big hole. I was laying down and trying to get comfortable, when I realized that there was another person in the same hole as me! As I was digging, I guess I unearthed whoever the person was that dug the hole before me. But the person was still alive! I guess she was just sleeping under the sand and was able to breathe still? And she also had her young daughter with her.
So unbelievably weird.

So that really freaked me out because its not everyday that you find somebody hidden in the sand. I headed back to the hotel room to clean off. It was weird though because when I opened the door, it wasn't even a regular room, it was just a whole bunch of showers like at the gym. And the lady and daughter from the sand followed me. I guess they were laying in the sand for too long. How is that even possible??? I think it's because I watched the Bones episode last night with the Gravedigger. And that is all I remember.
